Biography

Tess Allas has worked in the field of Aboriginal visual arts and community cultural development since the early 1990s and has a Masters in Curatorship and Modern Art from the University of Sydney. Tess worked as the Storylines Research Officer at the College of Fine Arts, UNSW from 2006 to 2009 and is currently employed as an Associate Lecturer at the School of Art History and Art Education at COFA.
Aboriginal visual art from the Eastern and Southern states of Australia
Worked as a curator/community cultural development officer for Wollongong City Council, NSW Community Arts Association, Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Cooperative and the Art Gallery of NSW. Also worked as a tutor in Contemporary Aboriginal Art for the Power Institute, University of Sydney and as an arts journalist for the AWAYE program on ABC Radio National.
