Dr. Bob Jansen is an IT professional having worked in the ICT industry in Australia and internationally for over forty years, in conventional ICT projects and project management, eHealth and digital electronic health records, digital archiving, AI and on-line story telling.
He was the Program Manager of CSIRO’s Knowledge Based Systems Laboratory researching knowledge acquisition, representation and maintenance, authoring over thirty peer reviewed papers on these topics (http://turtlelane.com.au/bjpublications.html). He was a guest researcher at Centre National des Textes et Manuscrits Modernes in France developing an electronic version of James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake archive.
His AI research focused on story telling as a mechanism for knowledge acquisition and explanation, culminating in the intelliText software, focusing on how users ’read’ digital content of various media and provide facilities for them to select modes of interaction most suitable to the question they are trying to answer.
The intelliText technology was commercialised through the Cultural Conversations project (http://cultconv.com), publishing interviews with eminent Australian and South Korean visual artists.
Dr. Jansen also provides the back-office functions for Australian artist, Yvonne Boag (http://yvonneboag.com.au), managing her digital archive and web site, recording artworks, sales, exhibitions, consignments, publications and CV.
