Biography


Nineteenth-century to mid-twentieth-century Australian artists: painters, sketchers, scene painters, performers, decorative artists
Currently the Nelson Meers Foundation Lecturer in Australian Art at the University of Sydney.
Author of Visual Ephemera: Theatrical Art in Nineteenth-Century Australia (UNSWPress 2000) and refereed chapters and articles.
Senior researcher for the printed version of Joan Kerr's DAA (OUP 1992) and Joint Chief Investigator for the Heritage: The National Women's Art Book project.
