Born in England in 1933, Sibley arrived in Australia in 1948. He received artistic training in England and Australia and he entered the Archibald prize with portraits of the artists Jon Molvig, Mirka Mora and Alan McCulloch. His work is represented in major public collections including the NGA and AGNSW.
