In addition to David Jones Ltd's role as a department store, they also designed and manufactured timber furniture, much of it in an oak Arts & Crafts style such as a "Morris" easy chair, "King Arthur" chair, etc . This furniture was widely advertised ca.1910 in "Building" magazine where a 160 page furniture catalogue was advertised. The factory was located in Druitt Street until a fire in 1911.
