The exhibition was a one night only screening at the Chauvel Cinema featuring video and installation works by Matthew Hopkins, Kathryn Gray, Emma Ramsay & Anna John, James Newitt, Sheena Macrea, Sean Rafferty and Micheala Gleave.
Curated by Dr Oliver Watts and Dr Dougal Phillips. The exhibition included new works by six Sydney artists, including Lucinda Chambers, Clemens Habicht, Brennan King, Sarah Linder, Michael Robson, and Alexander Seton. The exhibiting works all engaged in various ways with the surrounding Gardens and the Domain.
A Half Dozen video screening event curated by Half Dozen director David Teh and Thomas Berghuis. A two night screening of Australian video art, which included The Late Sessions (curated by Soda_Jerk) and highlights from Newcastle’s Electrofringe Festival (2003-2004). The Australian video works were matched with a selection of new and recent screen-based works from China.
The exhibition brought together six artists who worked with spatiality, inflated and modular architectures, and with the spectral effects of new media. The artists were Alex Davies, Biljana Jancic, Suzan Liu, Koji Ryui, Sam Smith and Mimi Tong.
'Cutting Fields: collage in the 21st Century’ brought together ten artists who together mapped the traditions of cutting in the 21st Century, exploring the paths between drawing and sculpture, collage and installation.
