Embroiderer and artist. Olive was a student at Perth Technical School in 1905 under Loui Benham and J. W. R. Linton.
Allen (head of school) commented in the annual report that the class of 1906 had reached a higher standard of excellence than previously. Local people were able to judge for themselves when the work was exhibited at the Chamber of Manufactures’ Exhibition in Perth. The reviewer was impressed with the art and applied art, in particular the sections showing needlework, repouss_ and design for textiles. The students who excelled that year were Flora Le Cornu, Miss A. D. Minchin, Mattie Furphy, Katharine Armstrong, Olive Thompson and Miss O. B. Parrant. Of these, Mattie Furphy worked in repouss_ and the last two and Catharine Armstrong were needlewomen.
