Ralf Rauker is a performance artist based in Perth. He studied acting in Berlin and has acted in and directed several plays in Europe and Australia. Since 2003 he has been employed as a lecturer and course coordinator in contemporary performance at the Edith Cowan University in Perth. In 2007 he collaborated with Berlin based video artist Merit Fakler to perform 'Performing Hearts Solo’ on a bench outside the Art Gallery of Western Australia during the Biennale of Electronic Arts Perth (BEAP). This work was an exploration of stillness in theatre and dedicated to the German political playwright and poet Bertold Brecht. Prior to this Rauker and Fakler collaborated on the performance piece 'A War Hole Ma Mo Chin’ which was about Andy Warhol and Marilyn Munroe.
