Sarah Jones, artist, curator, and writer, was awarded the Italian Arts Residency award to travel to Italy in 2012 to undertake an internship at the contemporary art space EX3 in Florence. She is the recipient of a number of fellowships and awards, including an Arts Tasmania Assistance to Individuals grant for curatorial research in 2010, the Contemporary Art Spaces Tasmania (CAST) emerging curator mentorship in 2009, and a Janet Holmes à Courts Artists’ grant.

In 2011 Jones curated several projects, including 'The Hobart Urban Illumination Project’ as part of Iteration: Again, Hobart, under the curatorial direction of David Cross, Massey University School of Fine Arts, Wellington, NZ; 'Trophy Wife’, Death Be Kind, Melbourne; and 'Erotographomania’, CAST, Hobart. Jones also participated in '...come to life…’, an exhibition showcasing emerging young Tasmanian artists, which was co-curated by the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG) and CAST and held at the QVMAG, Launceston, from 13 July 2012 to 17 February 2013.
