Lucas, in addition to his architectural practice, also worked in furniture design and interior architecture. From 1952-1955, he designed furniture as Lucas-Gee, later working as part of the Design Group with Ruth Harvey and others winning a Forestry Commission furniture competition. He also worked with Marion Best in her Elizabeth Arden interiors commission in Sydney.
