Biography

Michael Bogle is a historian/lecturer specialising in Australian design. His books include "Design in Australia 1880-1870" (1998), "Designing Australia" (2002), "Design in Flight" (the Marc Newson airbus) (2009), and chapters on the architecture of Martin Place in "Sydney’s Martin Place: A Cultural and Design History" (2016) and the design of postwar coffee shops and cocktails lounges in Sydney in "Leisure Space: The Transformation of Sydney 1945-1970" (2014). He is the editor of the monograph "Tanner Kibble Denton Architects 1974-2014" (2014). He has a PhD from RMIT’s School of Architecture and Design and a Master of Liberal Arts in history from Boston University. Michael was elected to membership in the Design Institute of Australia's Design Hall of Fame in 2014.
