Don Johnson is an interior designer and a founding member of the Society of Interior Decorators (later Designers) of Australia. He was the first president of the Society. He lectured at East Sydney Technical College and worked in a design partnership with Ed Dykes as well as Don Johnson Pty Ltd. With Dykes, he designed the interiors of the Qantas Empire Airways Bldg working with architects Rudder, Littlemore and Rudder and working with Kann, Finch Partners, he developed the TravelLodge interiors, Macleay St, Sydney in the 1960s. David Davenport also worked as a designer for Don Johnson Pty Ltd. Davenport later formed Davenport Campbell & Partners, one of Australia’s largest architectural, facility planning and interior design companies.
