Douglas Baulchs works were usually done plein-air in a blended impressionist/realism style. He exhibited extensively at the Victoria Artists Society. He settled in the Yarra Valley for it beauty as renowned by the Heidelberg School, so the area is heavy represented within his works. In 65 he went to Dampier and captured its beauty. He returned to the Yarra Valley and continued rpresenting these areas. He pass away in 1996.
