Healy studied at Royal Melbourne Technical College, Victoria in industrial design, then worked as a designer for A.G. Healing Australia 1953-1959, then as a designer Crown Crystal Glass Australia, Sydney. His work was represented in the Arts Festival, Melbourne Olympic Games, 1956.
