Description

Exhibition. Society of Interior Designers, Woollahra Arts Centre, 1953. This was the Society of Interior Designers of Australia’s first exhibition. It included work by Edmund Dykes, Hera Roberts, Mary White, Hilda Abbott, George Korody, Cecily Adams, Bruce Tebbutt, Marion Best, Geoff Callaghan, Donald Shaw, Ruth Sloane, Stuart Low and students from the East Sydney Technical College, Barbara Hansen, Lois Dawson, Vivienne Chaffer, Yvonne Bush and Jill Townsend.
Non-exhibiting members in the exhibition are also listed in the catalogue and include Margaret Lord, Phyllis Shillito, Alison Syme, Stephen Kalmar, James Overton and Jan Veenstra.
Don Johnston was the first president of the Society. An unpaginated catalogue was prepared.
