Gordon Andrews b.1914 is a prolific and influential Sydney industrial designer, illustrator, photographer, graphic artist and jeweler.
Andrews worked in the UK, Italy and Australia throughout his career and is most famous for designing currency banknotes.
Andrews retired to Lovett Bay on the Hawkesbury River until bushfires destroyed his home on his 80th birthday. He died in Sydney on 17 January, 2001, aged 87. He was survived by his former wife, Mary, children Lynn, Richard and Michael, and sister Betty Horsburgh.
Examples of Andrews’ work are held at the Powerhouse Museum.
