Harley Tarrant b. 1860

Tarrant was amongst the first to design and build a motor car in Australia, the "Tarrant". Beginning as an automobile importer, he developed his first car, in partnership with Howard Lewis in 1901, later moving into manufacturing of auto bodies for imported chassis.
