Jon Lewis, photographer and film maker was best known for his detailed portrait studies of his fellow artists and friends, as well as his documentary photographs of the environmental damage wreaked on Kiribati and Bougainville . He was a passionate environmentalist., a founding member of Greenpeace, and an active participant in its anti-whaling campaign.
