Laurence West

Also known as Laurie West, WESTS
West was a writer, lecturer & retailer of modernist designer furniture in Brisbane. He frequently wrote on furniture design & at one point in his career, described himself as a furniture designer. His retail outlet, WESTS, in Fortitude Valley was designed by Karl Langer. Langer's building survives. WESTS sold furniture by Clement Meadmore, Roger McLay and others. Work from international designers was manufactured in Victoria.
