Bunbury was active in the mid-20th century. In the late 1940s, he was described as a furniture designer and lectured on industrial design. He worked with Fred Ward for the Myer Emporium in-house studio, was the interior designer for the Atomic Age exhibition, Sydney (1947) and the chief designer of the Australian Fashion Fair, Melbourne Exhibition Bldg (1950). A founder member of the Society of Designers for Industry on 1948.
