Cavanagh was an embroiderer, designer and woodcarver. She exhibited carved photograph frames and a curtain, which she had designed and executed at the Perth Technical School under Loui Benham, with the West Australian Society of Arts in 1911. The reviewer for the Western Mail considered her work would be admired. She was possible the sister of the Cavanagh brothers.
