Miss M.E. Oddie active in the Ballarat Photographic Society in the 1890s including as an office bearer along with Elizabeth Ison Baker, and related to the family of James Oddie, businessman and founder of the Ballarat Observatory in 1880s. The Adelaide Advertiser_ Saturday 11 August 1894, p7 noted her visit with Mr Oddie, to the South Australian Photographic Society where the pair presented lunar photographs taken at the Ballarat Observatory. The latter were possibly by Elizabeth Ison Baker then manager of the Observatory following the death of her father astronomer, Captain H E Baker.
