Mary Webb b. 1917

Webb was an early Australian abstract painter. She spent most of her life in Britain then in France, where she died. She is virtually unknown in Australia, although John McDonald included two of her paintings in his NGA 'Federation' show.

Mary Webb began her professional career in Sydney, and later exhibited her expressionistic abstract works in London.
