Mr Baker

Mr Baker had links with the Photographic Society of New South Wales. It is believed that he presented a new kind of printing paper, "Austral simplex paper", to the Society's annual exhibition in 1898.

Re the Photographic Society of NSW annual exhibition: 'A New printing paper prepared by Messrs Baker and Rouse, called the “Austral simplex paper” was much admired. It is developed in the same manner as bromide paper, but it has the advantage that no dark room is required’ ( Sydney Morning Herald 17 August 1898, 6).
