Beck was a London and Melbourne designer. He practised as an industrial designer in the UK and Australia. He designed travel posters for the Orient Line, London Transport, stamps for Australia Post and the 1956 Melbourne Olympics among others. His package design work is illustrated in R. Haughton James, The Arts in Australia series, "Commercial Art", Longmans, 1963.
