cartoonist, signed the 'Bird O’ Freedom’ cartoon in the last (“obscene”) issue of Dead Bird, 31 January 1891, although there is nothing upsetting in it. The other cartoonist on the paper appears to have been H.H. Spooner.

The obscenity issue was over the publication of a photograph of a nude boxer, rather than the cortoonists’ content.
