cartoonist, signed the 'Bird O’ Freedom’ cartoon in the last (“obscene”) issue of Dead Bird , 31 January 1891, although there is nothing upsetting in it. The other cartoonist on the paper appears to have been H.H. Spooner .

The obscenity issue was over the publication of a photograph of a nude boxer, rather than the cortoonists’ content.
