Recent significant career highlight: in April 2016, Dr. Pell successfully completed Polar Suborbital Science Upper Mesosphere [PoSSUM] training at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for the NASA Space Technology Mission Directorate’s Flight experiment 46-S Noctilucent Cloud Tomography Experiment due for flight in July 2018. As the first artist to qualify as an Astronaut, she was honoured with the title "PoSSUM Artist-Astronaut Candidate" rather than the historic moniker "PoSSUM Scientist-Astronaut Candidate.
