Stewart Merrett b. 1 January 1943

Merrett trained in illustration and design, working in Myer, Melbourne as a display designer. He then worked develop L'Oreal's packaging design. After 1978, he began working in textile design in Melbourne, designing and producing three-dimensional textile murals using appliqué, embroidery and collage for large-scale commercial installations. He promoted his techniques through lectures and three major publications.
