Another of the split canvases, painted by Vivienne Binns and Geoff Newton.
One of a series of split canvases, each painted by two artists; this one by Vivienne Binns and Derek O’Connor.
This project consisted of Binns living in an “Art Caravan” for two years and travelling from Lithgow to Lake Cargelligo in central New South Wales. Throughout this journey, she observed and engaged with the creative expression of local communities.
Two of these collaborative works were made by the participants in the Blacktown phase of the community arts project, 'Mothers’ memories, Others’ memories’. One is in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia and the other in the collection of Blacktown City Council.
