Biography

Artist statement (approx. 150 words or less)
For twenty years I have worked at the nexus between art and science, beginning in 1996 with Geoderma, a collaboration with Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines, an exhibition which toured Australia and was shown in the London Festival of Electronic Arts.

Since arriving in Australia I have explored specific sites and natural phenomena occurring in diverse locations. These have included studying the Aurora Borealis in Lapland (Painted Sky); endangered sea birds on Christmas Island (Auspex Australis); and the US space station relics in the Esperance Museum (Skylab).
My work has been characterised by the use of new technologies and collaborations with other artists, scientists and electronic composers. My current fascination with 360o imaging and immersive environments has enabled me to bring together these elements in a number of new works, shown in the video dome at the Esperance Museum, (July 2019) the Yagan Square Digital Tower, (May 2019 - May 2020) and in the circular video category at the prestigious FILE Video Festival in São Paulo Brazil (June - August 2019). Also selected for FILE 2020 which has been postponed.
