Sebel was a furniture & toy designer/manufacturer. He worked with his father in metalwork in UK, then establishing a furniture manufacturing works in Sydney. Specialising in injection moulded plastics, later diversifying into property (Sebel Town House hotel). Notable works include chairs such as the "Slim and Comfy" , the Nest-a-Bye stackable, the steel "Stak-a-Bye" and the "Integra" (designed by Charles Furey).

Founded the Sebel Company in Australia in
1951 and, as Managing Director, initiated
the Sebel Design Award in 1967. Has been
interested in Product Design and development
since the immediate postwar years in
England. Has many patents and inventions
to his credit. Fellow of the Australian
lnstitute of Management. Sometime Chairman
Chairman of the Toy Manufacturers’ Association
of N.S.W., and the Direct Mail Commiilee of
the Australian Association of National
Advenisers, and a past Councillor of the
N.S.W. Guild of Furniture Manufacturers.
As a “hobby”, is also Managing Director of
The Town House in Sydney, and has been
responsible for the development of several
large building projects including The Penthouses
