Collins street, Alderman G. F. Carden
will open an exhibition of paintings by
Mr. Howard W. Matthews at 3 p m. to-
day. The work consists of oil paintings,
portraits landscapes, and flower studies.
Mr. Matthews was for some time a
student at the National Gallery drawing
and painting school. His work received
some commendation there.
