Ionat Zurr is an artist, researcher and curator whose practice is focused on the biological arts. She was born in England and has lived in Israel and Australia. In 2002 she participated in 'BioFeel’, an exhibition associated with the Biennale of Electronic Arts Perth (BEAP). At this time she was artist in residence in SymbioticA – The Art & Science Collaborative Research Laboratory at The School of Anatomy & Human Biology, University of Western Australia. In 1996 she co-founded the Tissue Culture and Art Project with Oron Catts. In 2000-2001 she was a Research fellow at The Tissue Engineering & Organ Fabrication Laboratory, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School(2000-2001). Zurr has also studied photography and media studies, specializing in biological and digital imaging and video production.
