Although she was born in Adelaide, Susan Dorothea White was influenced by her childhood in Broken Hill in far western NSW. After initially studying at the South Australian School of Art, she studied at the Julian Ashton art school under Henry Gibbons. She has exhibited widely throughout Australia as well as New York, Germany and Amsterdam.

Exhibited Blake Prize 1988–89
Based on Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper but women from different cultures replace the men.The fruit and vegetables are positioned on the table to correspond to the women, and the figure of Judas has a can of Coca Cola and a hamburger. Uluru, sacred to the Anangu people of Central Australia, can be seen through the left window.

Note: Exhibited 1988 Blake Prize + later toured the Netherlands and Germany
