Powerhouse Museum, Design Project

Design & Art Australia Online is working with the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, to build biographical records for Australian designers and makers that link back to relevant object records from Powerhouse Museum’s online catalogue.

We are making 'stub’ records based on core biographical facts from the Powerhouse Museum online catalogue.

We invite DAAO members to help update and build on these 'stub’ records. Simply JOIN this project if you would like to help out.

  • amanda58 Aug. 13, 2012 I have about three Prue Acton outfits from about 1980. Two dresses - heavily pleated - one navy and one Grecian style rusty brown colour and one Australian themed shirt with leather painted possums and wombats etc. I am happy to loan them to a gallery at some stage if anyone is putting on an exhibition. She was my favourite designer so I have been able to bear to part with them. All about size ten.
  • boltoo Aug. 21, 2012 Hi Amanda, Thanks so much for your note. I love her stuff too. We're collecting information on the designer's work and professional life on DAAO. I'd recommend contacting a collecting institution directly regarding loaning your items. You can find some institutions that hold Prue Acton designs in their collections here: http://www.daao.org.au/bio/prue-acton/#artist_works
