Donna Franklin is a Perth-based artist whose practice has largely been focused on biological processes and our relationship to the natural world. She has created several textile works which have harnessed growing organisms such as fungi, including 'Fibre Reactive’ which was included in the Biodifference exhibition at the 2004 Biennale of Electronic Arts Perth (BEAP). She has also undertaken collaborative work in the areas of performance and costume design. In 2004 Franklin completed a Masters of Arts (Visual Arts) at The School of Contemporary Arts, Edith Cowan University and in the same year undertook a residency at the Art/Science research laboratory SymbioticA, at the University of Western Australia. In subsequent years has continued her affiliation with Edith Cowan University as an academic and PhD scholar in the School of Communication and Contemporary Arts.
